The turnkey contract is a format of construction in which the complete responsibilities and the risk of project completion lies with the turnkey contractor or service provider. Once, the viability is established, a Front End engineering design will be carried out to define the overall concept and design philosophy for the project.
The turnkey contract in engineering and construction known as EPC or EPCC (engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning) will be an Item Rate or lump sum fixed schedule contract. Hence the main elements of a successful project management are schedule, cost and QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety and Environment).
